Unholy Embrace a vampire novel - Thaddeus Romans on the power dominance among vampires

“Power dominance is an essential aspect of interpersonal relationships among vampires. The alpha vampire will quickly respond to any challenge to its superiority.”
In The Vampires among Us by Thaddeus Romans
While most vampires live solitary lives, some form clans, especially in the larger cities. In either instance, when vampires encounter each other the power status among them is quickly established. Contrary to most movies and novels, vampires do not get their strength by virtue of the length of their existence. Rather, power comes strength and authority of the vampire that turned them. Thus, powerful vampires, can form clans that wield great authority. The single greatest source of obtaining power for a vampire is to kill and drink the blood of their maker. This is no easy task. Most vampires who attempt to do this fail and are immediately killed. In Neil Benson's vampire novel, Unholy Embrace, Nessa, the Vampiress, kills and drinks the blood of the horrible and extremely powerful vampire that made her. In an instant, she went from being a thrall to a vampire that commanded respect from others of her kind. Her strength was great enough to make her feared among other creatures of the night
