Unholy Embrace: The vampire Nessa consoles Claude Monet

1872
Finding a means of obtaining blood meant I could focus on what brought me to Paris. Art was the heart and soul of the city. Evening exhibitions enabled me to see the great artists of the time such as Corot, Millet, and Rousseau. Several artists wanted me to pose for them, but I declined all requests because I could not allow the existence of a dated portrait of me. I became friendly with Manet, Monet, Renoir, and other young Impressionists.
One night, I sat at café talking with Claude Monet, whom I had met at a party after an exhibition. He had difficulty selling his magnificent paintings.
“Nessa, it is hard to pour your soul onto a canvas only to have it derided.”
“You are a talented man. Surely people will buy your paintings.”
“It is not just me. It is hard on my wife. She wears old clothes and wonders if anything will ever change.”
I reached into my purse and pulled out ten francs. “Here. Take this. Your family should not suffer because the world is blind.”
He looked at the money then pushed it back at me. “No. I cannot take money like a beggar.” Though his lips were drawn, tears leaked out of his eyes.
“I am not giving you anything. Consider it a loan. Give me any one of your paintings and you can redeem it whenever you want.”
He looked at the money then at me. He sighed. “Only as a loan. Only as a loan.” Then he kissed me on the cheek. “You have a great spirit.”

Mozart meets a vampire in Unholy Embrace by Neil Benson

Nessa meets Mozart

1774

I ended a period of isolation and attended parties once more. With Josef's help I bought a new house in a different area, but still close to my farm. By moving to a new location, I could become thirty years old again because none of the people there knew me. Solomon Abramowitz invited me to a reception at his home, where I met several influential Viennese businessmen, enabling me to reenter the Viennese society.

One evening. I attended a piano concerto written by Mozart and decided to meet him. My escort, Count Ludwig Steinmetz, was one of the most influential men in the city.

After the concert ended, I gazed into Ludwig's eyes. “Do you think it would be possible for me to meet Mozart?” I asked as I stroked his arm.

“Of course. I will speak to the Director of music. Please wait here.” A short time later he returned with a big grin on his face.

“There will be a reception next door. I made sure we would be among the first to meet him.” He proffered me his arm, and we went to the house next door to the recital hall.

After we entered the building, we walked into a large reception room. A cluster of people gathered at the far end. Ludwig marched straight through the crowd until we stood within ten feet of the young genius.

When the music master, Herr Metzenbaum, saw the Count, he led us forward.

“Count Ludwig Steinmetz, may I introduce Amadeus Mozart?”

“Your Excellency, a pleasure.” He made a slight bow to the count.

“I would like to introduce one of Vienna's most lovely women, my good friend, Nessa Harcanu.”

As Mozart's examined my body, he nodded ever so slightly. “You are quite lovely, Fräulein, Harcanu.”

“Thank you. I enjoyed your concert immensely.”

“Thank you,” he said and turned his attention to the Count.

I put my hand over my mouth to hide a smile. The young genius had an eye for women, but he had a bigger eye for potential benefactors.

Unholy Embrace vampire novel by Neil Benson - seduced by a vampire

Frank finds out that an alpha female  vampire is in charge when it comes to sex.

“May I look through your library?” she asked, examining my bookcases.

“Sure.” I was uneasy with her tendency to ask permission after the fact.

She looked at the titles for several minutes then pulled out Dr. Bova’s book on immortality and extending life. “Immortal life holds a fascination for you,” she said. “You’ll find living a long time doesn’t bring the answers to the questions you seek.”

“Am I to assume you know that from personal experience?”

She put her finger under my chin and kissed me on the lips. “I’ve seen the passing of more seasons then you could ever imagine. Perhaps, if I like you, I’ll tell you about them.”

“That would be interesting.” I'm being seduced by a vampire. Am I out of my freaking mind?

“Hush,” Nessa said, as if she could hear my thoughts. She brushed my cheek with her fingertips, pressed her lips to mine, and parted them with her tongue.

“Come.” She led me to my bedroom

The Phantom Paragrapher review of "An Unholy Embrace" by Neil Benson

The Phantom Paragrapher

Review of "An Unholy Embrace" by Paula Phillips

Are you loving the whole mortal/vampire love storyline ? Edward and Bella in Twilight , Elena and Stefan / Damon in Vampire Diaries , Dylan and Claire in The Gates (though Claire is now turned) , Alexander/ Jagger and Raven in Vampire Kisses and Dimitri and Rose in Vampire Academy or Hugo and Elizabeth in The Point and who can forget our Sookie Stackhouse and Eric/Bill.

With Vampire Novels now on the rise for the last two years , reading an article -the world of Vampires has hit the money-making world of $7 Billion Dollars in Books, Movies, TV and Merchandise.

Today's Review is that whole mortal/vampire love affair but in today's book it contains the twist of the female being the Vampire and the mortal being the male.

Review : Unholy Embrace - Neil Benson -

A popular storyline lately has been the tale of the mortal/vampire love story and the majority of them have ended up writing the male as a Vampire and the female as the lovestruck mortal. One thing that I really liked in Neil Benson's book is that he decided to use gender reversed roles and make the male the lovestruck mortal and the female the Vampire. Having it this way, was a nice change for once.

The story starts when Frank and Nessa are out on a date and are attacked by Werewolves, the attack causes Nessa to extract her fangs and go all- vampirey , something that Frank hasn't really experienced before. From then on , we are transported back to the beginning -where they first met and how their relationship started and of course how they reached the point in the story.

What follows is Nessa explaining and opening her 400yr old heart to Frank and telling her story on how she became a Vampire starting in Hungary all the way to her travels via Vienna and Paris to the Present time in New York.

We read as the Werewolves attacks are just the beginning as Nessa has been on the run nearly 400 years and has been tracked by Narice - the vampire lover of the Vampire who turned Nessa and in return Nessa Killed out of vengeance.

When Frank realises the consequences and danger of being with Nessa , can he stand strong and embrace the unholiness of being with a Vampire or will he take the white feather coward option out and leave Nessa to follow a path of a normal life ?

An excellent story that shows readers in a paranormal and supernatural way that no matter what happens and how terrifying obstacles can be - love between not only mortals but mortals and supernaturals can stick tog

Frank Thornton never believed in the supernatural until the night he met Nessa. From that night on, the night she confessed to being a vampire, his life ceased to be simple. Between nights of exotic sex, battles with werewolves, and an epic battle for survival, they learn more and more about one another and findthat true love can cross all barriers.

Despite the fact that both Frank and Nessa are your average kind of characters, the kind that can be found in nearly any vampire novel – he’s the disbeliever, she’s the been-there-seen-that vampiress – they both possess strong character and an intriguing story. Frank is an honest and down-to-earth kind of guy with a protective streak that very well may get him killed before long. He’s willing and practically able to do anything and everything needed to keep her by his side, vampire or not. He’s steadfast and completely, totally smitten with her.

She’s got a history longer than that of the United States and yet she notonly brings Frank home but also decides she wants – and needs – to keep him around for the long term. She can be cold and aloof when she needs to be but, when it comes to Frank, she’s all his. Together, they make a deadly team, fighting werewolves, demons, and a psychotic, spurned vampire that’s been haunting Nessa for centuries. And when they’re alone, they explode with passion and desire so hot they nearly combust.

In today’s world, you never quite know what’s lurking in the shadows. Justask Frank Thornton. He started out as an architect to the rich and quickly went from being happily oblivious to fighting a variety of the denizens of the night. However, just so long as he’s fighting alongside his girlfriend, the vampire Nessa, he’s determined to save the world. Unholy Embrace is an enjoyable story that is sure to engage and satisfy any lover of vampire fiction.
